I know. You read the title and your hoping that something might work as a gift for a guy. I totally get it. I’ve been dating my boyfriend for over 4 years and I still have trouble figuring out things to get him. Same with my dad and my brother, I’ve known them forever but its still really hard. I just thought I’d show you guys some ideas for what I got different people for different holidays!
Make a personalized t-shirt!
Make a personalized mug!
You can see the personalized mug I made in this picture. For this gift, I bought or made different items that involved my boyfriend’s hobby/career choice. The mug says “PILOT be cause BADASS isn’t an official job title.” and I drew a plane on the opposite side.
With mug making, I honestly haven’t had much success. I have done many experiments with this particular project and I have had many failures with it. However, I think I did find a way that works best.
Buy items you know they’ll need based on new or old interests!
This gift was for my mom but it can easily be made into a gift for a guy. I like this particular gift because it contains items that would actually be used and are useful but fun to receive. My mom was taking krav magaa classes so I bought her a towel and headband for the class. I also happened to find a rooster mug so I put the two items in the mug. I just did a compilation of things my mom likes.
For a guy, you could buy a blender bottle, workout towel and an athletic watch for a small but useful gift if they’re into working out. You could also do this for the artsy person in your life. I know personally, when I get random and odd art supplies I get really excited to use them. So you could look up a new type of art expression and buy supplies for that project or buy random items and make an art supply compilation.
Make a scrapbook!
Scrapbooks are great to give to someone you know relatively well and have taken pictures or gone to events with them. I make one for my boyfriend about once a year. It’s a great way to document things that have happened between you and that person.
What gifts have you given to the guy in your life? What gifts have you given to that person that is difficult to buy for?
Sometimes it can be difficult to try and inspire people through words. Inspiration is often something you feel that is sparked by something you see or experience. Because of that, i decided to create a few social media sites to try and get your inspiration-craved minds rolling!
What would you like to see on the inspireafeeling social media sites?
There is an area in upstate New York in a small town that this mountain resides in. Vroman’s Nose is a relatively well known mountain within New York State so my friend and I planned to check it out.
We stopped at a house that had information on the hike and this wonderful woman came out to answer any and all questions we had. I’m pretty sure she does the flyers and answers questions out of her enjoyment and love of hiking. I love that. Everyone should live their life that way, using their passion to help others and fuel other people’s aspirations.
The hike was absolutely beautiful! This is a very family friendly hike. However there aren’t any railings on the ledges. The hike was relatively short and somewhat difficult.
The view is absolutely amazing. You can see a multitude of mountains, fields and farm houses. My friend and I watched, from the peak, a farmer check out his fields. We could see the stream that runs below and the town far off in the distance.
It was a great day for a hike! Get ready for Spring hiking!
Thanks for coming on this hike with me! I hope you enjoyed and are tying up your hiking shoes to go on a hike as you read!
What is your favorite view to have when you reach the top of a peak?
I encourage you to hike in the rain. Most people always look for the sunny and warm days, but sometimes the best hiking is on the off days.
I ordinarily wouldn’t hike in the rain. When initially planning this hike, my boyfriend and I didn’t anticipate rain (or at least I didn’t) but that day it poured all day long. Even though it was rainy and dark, we went anyway. It was so nice to walk through the warm rain. Plus the escarpment was amazing despite the rain.
Embrace every day no matter what it throws at you. Take chances. Do something you wouldn’t normally do. Take on every challenge, every idea and every dream. You can do that.
I hope you enjoyed!
What is your favorite type of weather or season to hike in?
Are you unhappy?
Do you feel like you need to be more adventurous?
Do you wish you were more physically fit?
Do you wish you were more outgoing socially?
Do you hate your first Semester at college?
Do you have goals that you haven’t yet achieved?
These are some of the many questions I ask myself almost everyday.
Ever since I was little I have had this obsession with living my life happily. I used to be scared of dying when I was little. Now, I have a more rational view on life and death. At the age of 18, I now understand that life comes and goes. I also believe that you should take that time to live your life the way that makes you happy. Time is something you can never get back.
For example, in school you have to read books. I absolutely love to read, but when I read something it has to be something I enjoy or it will never get done. Why read a book you don’t enjoy when you can get through the class without it? I sure as heck don’t want to waste my time reading a book that is painful to read. You may now be thinking, “reading is a great part of education and can teach students self discipline and improve reading skills.” Well… I agree. I’m pursuing a teaching certification with a double major with English. I’m not saying never read and to not do your school work. I’m saying don’t waste your time with a book you know for sure you will never finish.
Little things like that.
Ever since last semester I have had much more motivation to live my life the way I want to live it. Sitting in that dorm room watching Netflix wasn’t how I wanted to spend my time but I didn’t know anybody so its the way I chose to live it. Now with the RA (resident advisor) job, I have met so many more people. It has greatly improved the way I spend my time. I absolutely love this job and it was my way to change my life. It changed my life.
It’s not like I didn’t put myself out there last semester…because I did. It’s just I was surrounded by people with different interests. I was interested in making friends with them, but them not so much me since I didn’t do a sport. But now, I found people who have similar interests and they are accepting of people. Those are the people that I should be around. Those are the people worth chasing for friendship. I look back now, and I was chasing after the wrong people.
You can change your life. Live it the way you will be happy. You have that choice.
Don’t you just love it when you see something you want to eat and it looks sooooo good? But then, it gets even better when you actually buy or grab the food and it tastes just as good as you hoped it would?
Best feeling ever right?
Remember, the little things matter too. You may be having the most stressful and upsetting week of your life, but you have to make sure you’re not letting those negative feelings distract you from enjoying life.
Stress for a minute. Then stop stressing. Leave it behind you. Do something that makes you happy.
